Antonio Gamoneda Lobón. (Oviedo, May 30, 1931). Poet and critic of Spanish art.

Dedicated to art criticism, he works as a cultural advisor in the Diputación de León; He is also director of the Sierra Pambley Foundation, an institution dedicated to teaching characterized by being a projection of the Free Institution of Education. At the same time, he collaborates with the magazine Serta, to which he contributes various reflections and studies.

In 2006 he received the Cervantes Prize, considered the most important award in Hispanic literature. Considered one of the fundamental poets of contemporary Spanish literature, his work is characterized by its rigor and its symbolism, and has been translated into German, French, Portuguese and Italian.

The writer Antonio Gamoneda, winner of the 2006 Cervantes Prize, deposited a legacy in the Cervantes Institute's Box of Letters that will remain preserved until 2032. He is one of the personalities who leaves a personal object in the old vault of the Institute's headquarters .
